West Bengal is burning again, and the Centre is silent on this issue. “Oh they deployed BSF” do you not realise what's going to happen when their deployment ends? Where is the guarantee that the Hindus affected by communal violence will not be targeted again? Do you not remember what happened in 2021 after the elections in this state? Spineless government at the Centre, just waiting for West Bengal to turn into a second Kashmir, while they stand and watch. What is stopping you from imposing Article 356? 2026 state elections? Newsflash, elections don't mean human life is expendable. You are just like the TMC. They play votebank politics, you will use us to gain sympathy points after we have been killed, raped, looted, and displaced. Vivek Agnihotri will release “The Bengal Files” and you will promote it everywhere. Just remember, your inaction, which will definitely be omitted from the film, was the reason this happened. You have the blood of innocent Hindus on your hands. I hope you never get a moment of peace, that your silence and inability to stand up for what's right haunts you forever. People of Bengal will not forgive you. You are not better than Congress, Communists, or even the TMC. In fact, you are worse. You abandoned the Hindus of Bengal. If your help is contingent on whether or not the state voted for you, I'm sorry, just step down. Petty politics at such high levels is just immature. You are unfit to be the government. My people are fleeing their homes, leaving behind their ancestral land. We've already faced this once. And now, in your rule, this is happening again. We will remember who threw us out of our homes. We will also remember who stood by and let that happen. My people deserve better than leaders who just yap on Twitter all day from the safety and comfort of their Delhi offices. Be ashamed.

See I don't know if I should support the ban of The Kerala Story or not. On one hand it acts like a catalyst that further tries to incite hate and divide on communal and religious lines. It absolutely is a propaganda in a atmosphere where islamophobia is rampant and where the nationalist hindutva freaks are constantly looking for anything and everything to justify their hate. But my question is won't this ban be politicized and used as "see! They want to hide something! That's why they are suppressing our voice and banning the film under the guise of secularism!" Etc etc. Besides what about a free media? But then again after what people have done with The Kashmir Files, where the violence that happened was exaggerated and the exaggeration then got used to instill a feeling of being at war with a religious community, it doesn't take much to conclude that the Kerala story too is a work of the same political genre. So I personally don't know what to say. Like in the US you have copaganda. Is it better to ban those shows? Or to let it run but form your own educated decisions.
Can it even be compared because in India it is a propaganda against a community and the resulting boiled over pots would be riots and targeted assaults on the people of the community

Jitendra Kumar Tiwari: The Controversial Political Journey
Jitendra Kumar Tiwari, a prominent political figure from Asansol in West Bengal, has recently found himself embroiled in controversy once again. Formerly associated with the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and now a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Tiwari's political trajectory has been marked by significant ups and downs.
Tumblr media
Tiwari's latest controversy stems from allegations made by the TMC, accusing him of meeting a National Investigation Agency (NIA) officer to conspire against TMC leaders in exchange for money. These claims have been vehemently denied by Tiwari and the BJP.
Born in Asansol, Tiwari began his political career in 2006 with the TMC, contesting his first Assembly election from Raniganj. Over the years, he held various positions within the TMC, including mayor of the Asansol Municipal Corporation and TMC MLA from Pandabeswar. Tiwari's fluency in Hindi proved advantageous in Asansol, a region with a significant Hindi-speaking population.
In 2021, Tiwari switched allegiance to the BJP amid internal disputes within the TMC. He contested the Assembly elections on a BJP ticket but faced defeat. Despite this setback, Tiwari remains a key figure in Asansol politics, especially considering the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Recent events have further intensified speculation around Tiwari's role in the BJP's electoral strategy for Asansol. With the BJP yet to announce its candidate for the seat, Tiwari's name is circulating as a potential contender due to his local roots and Hindi-speaking background.
Amidst the unfolding political drama, Tiwari has threatened to file a defamation suit against those making allegations against him. He remains steadfast in his commitment to the BJP's cause in Asansol, emphasizing the electorate's support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi regardless of the candidate.
The unfolding narrative surrounding Jitendra Kumar Tiwari underscores the complex dynamics of regional politics and the evolving landscape of West Bengal's political arena.

Political Controversy Erupts as Police Block Visits to Sandeshkhali: Congress and BJP Delegations Stopped
The political atmosphere in West Bengal has become charged following the police’s obstruction of visits to Sandeshkhali by both Congress and BJP delegations. The BJP’s planned visit saw a diversion to the West Bengal Raj Bhavan, while Congress’s Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury staged a protest where he was halted.
Tumblr media
The actions of the police drew sharp criticism from both parties, with accusations of unconstitutional and unethical behavior directed towards West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
The six-member BJP delegation, including Union Ministers Annapurna Devi and Pratima Bhowmick, was halted merely five kilometers from Sandeshkhali, at Rampur. Similarly, the Congress team, led by Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, faced obstacles at Sarberia and Rampur. The parties condemned these actions in unison.
The unrest in Sandeshkhali has led to the imposition of prohibitory orders under CrPC Section 144, following violent protests by local villagers. Allegations against local Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Shahjahan Sheikh and associates include land grabbing, sexual harassment, and assault on local laborers.
Reports indicate that the BJP leaders were stopped by the police upon reaching Rampur, where they alleged mistreatment and were compelled to stage a dharna for hours. Annapurna Devi expressed dismay, highlighting the contradiction of allowing criminals freedom while impeding elected representatives from addressing citizens’ concerns.
BJP MLA Agnimitra Paul emphasized their attempts to comply with regulations, only to be met with persistent obstruction. Despite this, the delegation managed to connect with women in Sandeshkhali via video call before redirecting their efforts to the Raj Bhawan in Kolkata to meet Governor C V Ananda Bose.
Meanwhile, Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury’s protest in Rampur underscored his questioning of the legitimacy of police barricades on public roads. He dismissed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s allegations linking the BJP and RSS to instigating trouble in Sandeshkhali, condemning what he deemed divisive politics.
In contrast, TMC MP Shantanu Sen defended the police’s actions, questioning the BJP’s motives and citing their alleged lack of proactiveness in previous incidents. Sen echoed the sentiment that allowing the BJP delegation entry could destabilize the state’s atmosphere.

BJP Faces Exodus as Leaders Depart in West Bengal
While the BJP celebrates the influx of prominent leaders from other states, West Bengal presents a contrasting picture, with key figures leaving the party fold. In a surprising turn of events, a sitting MLA and MP have defected to the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in the past week, signaling a shift in political allegiances.
Tumblr media
The departure of leaders like Jhargram MP Kunar Hembram and Ranaghat Dakshin MLA Mukut Mani Adhikari comes as a blow to the BJP, especially in regions where it had made significant inroads. Hembram’s decision to step away from politics, citing a focus on social work, raises questions about the party’s prospects in tribal-dominated areas like Jangalmahal.
Hembram’s victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls was hailed as a breakthrough for the BJP in a region long considered a stronghold of the TMC. However, the party’s failure to secure victories in subsequent Assembly elections has raised doubts about its sustainability in the state.
Adhikari’s defection, particularly significant given his stronghold in the Matua community, underscores the complexities of West Bengal’s political landscape. The Matua community, with its sizable population and influence, has been a key battleground for the BJP and the TMC, especially in light of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA).
The TMC’s assertion that the exodus from the BJP signifies its decline in Bengal is met with skepticism from the BJP camp. Despite internal rifts and public dissent, party spokesperson Samik Bhattacharya remains confident in the BJP’s prospects, emphasizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity and the unwavering support of the people.
Nevertheless, the defections and internal discord within the Bengal BJP present challenges as the state gears up for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. The TMC, buoyed by recent gains and strategic acquisitions, sees an opportunity to capitalize on the disarray within its rival camp, particularly in North Bengal.
As the political landscape in West Bengal continues to evolve, the fate of the BJP hangs in the balance. With leadership transitions and shifting alliances shaping the narrative, all eyes are on the upcoming elections to gauge the trajectory of Bengal’s political future.
